چکیده
The synthesis and characterization of fibrous materials with a hierarchical structure are great importance for sciences. Among this class materials, microfibers different natures coated carbon nanofibers attract special interest. Such coating modifies the surface microfibers, makes it rougher, thus strengthens its interaction matrices being reinforced by addition these microfibers. In present work, series based on basalt fiberglass cloth up to 50 wt% was synthesized via catalytic chemical vapor deposition technique. initial items were impregnated an aqueous solution nickel nitrate reduced in hydrogen flow. Then, process using C2H4 or C2H4Cl2 as source carried out. A simple cost-effective technique preparation samples transmission electron microscopy examination developed applied first time. proposed method sample sequential TEM visualization implies ultrasonic treatment four simultaneously under same conditions holder. As found, relative strength decreases order CNF/CMF > CNF/BMF CNF/FGC. Two effects action revealed. First, strongly bonded undergo significant breakage. behavior is typical Secondly, can be completely detached from microfiber surface, observed case cloth. material, graphitized coherent nanofiber fragments grown it, which explains highest adhesion nanolayer

Bacteriophage Morphological Characterization by Using Transmission Electron Microscopy
Bacteriophages or more commonly “phages” are bacterial viruses. They are ubiquitous and good indicators of bacterial contaminations since their prevalence is high in those environments where their hosts are abundant. Phage classification is based on morphology and for this reason, even though it is considered an old technique, TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) still plays a key role in the...
متن کاملElectron Diffraction Using Transmission Electron Microscopy
Electron diffraction via the transmission electron microscope is a powerful method for characterizing the structure of materials, including perfect crystals and defect structures. The advantages of electron diffraction over other methods, e.g., x-ray or neutron, arise from the extremely short wavelength (≈2 pm), the strong atomic scattering, and the ability to examine tiny volumes of matter (≈1...
متن کاملQuantitative characterization of electron detectors for transmission electron microscopy.
A new generation of direct electron detectors for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) promises significant improvement over previous detectors in terms of their modulation transfer function (MTF) and detective quantum efficiency (DQE). However, the performance of these new detectors needs to be carefully monitored in order to optimize imaging conditions and check for degradation over time. W...
متن کاملTransmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Characterization of doped α-Alumina
Qualitative EDX analysis: A map is acquired in low magnification. Results show equiaxial grains finely distributed through out the sample. In spite of the fact that simulations indicate no clear energetic gain or loss for cosegreation over single dopant segregation in this material, we observed that in all grain boundaries these two dopants (Y an La) are segregating together (figure 2). This co...
